And since our debit card is also part of the MasterCard network, you can use it just like a credit card to make purchases. But instead of charging purchases, the amount is deducted automatically from your checking account, so there are no finance charges.

It's also easy to keep track of your cash, since your purchases are listed on your monthly checking statement.

Fraud Watch Plus and MasterCard SecureCode

Your debit card issued by VAC FCU has round-the-clock protection against the increasingly savvy perpetrators of debit card fraud.  That's because the debit cards we issue are protected by FraudWatch Plus.  Through an important partner of ours we provide industry leading technology, tools and the expertise to manage fraud.  Experienced fraud analysts work around the clock, watching for any suspicious card activity and will contact you immediately if they detect potential fraud on your card.

So if you ever get a call from "Fraud Prevention Services" know that our watchdogs are doing their job and preventing potential fraudulent use of your card.

It is MANDATORY that each debit card be registered through MasterCard SecureCode so that your online shopping will be secure.  A private code that you choose means added protection against unauthorized use of your card when you shop online at participating merchants.  To choose your own SecureCode, follow the simple steps at www.mastercard.com/securecode.  If you do not register through SecureCode, you will be held liable for any fraudulent charges that may occur.

Fraud is serious business, and can hit anytime.  That is why we are always on guard to detect and prevent fraud from happening to you.  Due to the amount of International Internet Fraud that occurs, VAC's debit cards are blocked from being able to process these type of transactions.  VAC's Visa card will allow International Internet transactions, so if it is necessary for you to make these type of purchases you can use your Visa card.  If you do not have a VAC Visa you can print out an application from the Online Services link on our website and apply today.

  LOST OR STOLEN ATM OR DEBIT CARDS:

ATM cards allow members to withdraw cash from their savings and checking accounts 24 hours a day at VAC's on-site ATM or at participating ATM machines and point of sale vendors who display the PULSE and PLUS logos. Other participating machines include: MoneyMaker, Cartel, NYCE, American Express, Honor, Star and PulsePay. To report a lost or stolen ATM card please contact VAC FCU's main office immediately. MasterCard Debit cards (also known as check cards) look like credit cards but operate like cash or a personal check. When you use a debit card, your money is quickly deducted from your checking account to pay for your purchase. Debit cards are accepted at many locations, including grocery stores, retail stores, gasoline stations, restaurants, and virtually any place where merchants display the MasterCard logo. Debit cards offer a convenient alternative to carrying a checkbook or cash. Using a personal identification number (PIN) you can also use your debit card to obtain cash at ATM machines who display the MasterCard logo. The new Reg.
